Lyme Regis Field Trip, June 2015

The 2015 SCOPAC field trip took elected members and officers back to Lyme Regis, West Dorset to view the completed seawall and slope stabilisation works between Church Cliff and East Cliff.

We last visited the site in 2013 when Phase IV of the scheme, costing £19.5 million, was in progress.  Phase IV is the final major element of the coast protection and coastal slope stabilisation. Work has been carried out under the Lyme Regis Environmental Improvements Scheme, devised in the early 1990s by West Dorset District Council working in cooperation with the town council and local groups.

Approximately 50 delegates attended the event, which commenced with talks in Lyme Regis and a site visit to the completed Phase IV scheme works.
